Once again, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, God has provided a place for us to assemble in His presence to honor Him—to make a clean break from our routine, to refocus, and to re-establish our perspective.
The quiet, peaceful Grand Geneva Resort property, 1300 acres of gently-rolling, wooded grounds with a private 20-acre lake lined by a scenic walking path, provides a perfect setting to recapture the vision of a future age of peace and beauty.
Nestled within these picturesque surroundings is the Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, the primary hub of daily services and our temporary housing. The Lodge’s one and only spacious yet intimate ballroom will provide a more private environment to learn about our future responsibilities and to get to know and serve each other. Just outside the ballroom is an airy lobby atrium with plenty of comfortable, relaxing seating—an ideal environment to connect and enjoy time together before and after services.
The 225 one- and two-bedroom Timber Ridge suites offer almost all the conveniences you would want in a temporary home: comfortable living room settings, six-seat dining tables, fireplaces and balconies. In addition to these amenities, all suites include kitchens with full-sized refrigerators, stove top burners, dishwashers and double sinks, fully stocked with all of the essentials needed to make home cooked meals for family or to host meals and gatherings for members.
The smaller size of this site, serving up to an attendance of 225, is ideal for a more intimate annual Church family reunion, helping reinforce the values of community, sharing and including everyone. In this environment, as we experienced last year, young and old, singles, couples and families tended to bond much more quickly and easily—from the opening night to the Last Great Day.
This year’s schedule is designed to balance time spent together with free time, time for families or small gatherings, and time to stop, rest, pray, study and reflect. A Dinner Dance Buffet near the beginning of the Feast of Tabernacles will give everyone the opportunity to mix early on. Our Family Day activity will be an indoors Bunco Game Day and Buffet. Bunco is a fun and easy game for all ages, and a great mixer for everyone involved; the rules are simple, no skill is required, and anyone can play. We will acknowledge our seniors with a four-course Honor Dinner followed by a varied entertainment program. All these activities will take place only 8/10 of a mile from Timber Ridge, on the property, at the Grand Geneva Main Lodge, easily accessible by car or by the regularly-running free Grand Geneva Trolley.
For those interested in additional activities, there is plenty to do both on-site and off-site, in the small town of Lake Geneva, just three miles west of the Grand Geneva, bordering the beautiful 5400-acre Geneva Lake.
